We are based in Harewood and provide professional driving instructors in the North-West areas of the Christchurch. Usually, lessons are conducted in the suburbs between Bealey Avenue, Yaldhurst, and North to Belfast. Greg Thomas is the principal driving instructor and owner of the Harewood Driving School which is a member of the NZ Institute of Driver Educators.
Greg has extensive driving experience and has worked with people of all ages in coaching and mentoring roles. For 14 years he was a emergency response vehicle driver, including 2 years in a specialist Road Safety Team and also owned a commercial passenger transport business. He enjoys driving and passing on safe driving skills to others.
We take the time to get to know you as a student, and encourage involving any support person or driving mentor, as this helps build a professional learning environment. At Harewood Driving School we take an interest in your instruction and structure the driving lessons to suit you.
Driving instruction is provided in a Toyota Corolla car with automatic transmission and dual controls for safety. The Toyota Corolla is a smooth comfortable car, easy to drive with excellent visibility.
Lessons are usually in our car, however, the practice drive for your restricted licence test may be in your car.
